The Bermuda Triangle

Hello everyone! Today I am going to be talking about the Bermuda Triangle. I am pretty sure a lot of you know at least a  little about this place. Let's discover some more!

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle or Hurricane Alley, is a loosely defined region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where several aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
It covers about 500,000 square miles of ocean off the southeastern tip of Florida.

Reports of unexplained occurrences in the region date to the mid-19th century. Some ships were discovered completely abandoned for no apparent reason; others transmitted no distress signals and were never seen or heard from again. Aircraft have been reported and then vanished, and rescue missions are said to have vanished when flying in the area. However, the wreckage has not been found, and some of the theories advanced to explain the repeated mysteries have been odd.
Although theories of supernatural causes for these disappearances overflow, geophysical and environmental factors are most likely responsible. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, “There is no evidence that mysterious disappearances occur with any greater frequency in the Bermuda Triangle than in any other large, well-travelled area of the ocean,” and boaters and fliers continue to venture through the triangle without event.

Incidents

The Ellen Austin on its voyage in 1881 came across another ship that was sailing without a soul on board. Ellen Austin transferred its salvage crew onto the unknown ship and attempted to sail with it to New York. The unknown ship got separated in a squall and disappeared. Later it reappeared, but again without a person on board. It is said that the unknown ship again disappeared forever.

In December 1945, five Navy bombers carrying 14 men took off from a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, airfield, to conduct practice bombing, runs over some nearby shoals. But with his compasses apparently malfunctioning, the leader of the mission, known as Flight 19, got severely lost. All five planes flew aimlessly until they ran low on fuel and were forced to ditch at sea. That same day, a rescue plane and its 13-man crew also disappeared. After a massive weeks-long search failed to turn up any evidence, the official Navy report declared that it was “as if they had flown to Mars.”

It was reported by 1964 magazine article that, mysterious accidents had occurred in the area, including three passenger planes that went down despite having just sent “all’s well” messages. Since then, scores of fellow paranormal writers have blamed the triangle’s supposed danger on everything from aliens, Atlantis and sea monsters to time warps and reverse gravity fields, whereas more scientifically minded theorists have pointed to magnetic anomalies, waterspouts or huge eruptions of methane gas from the ocean floor.

So, the Bermuda Triangle still remains a mystery to us. There have been many explanations to explain the strange incidents that occur here but none have been proven right till now. Hopefully, we will be to provide an explanation soon.

With this, I end this post. I hoped you all liked reading about the Bermuda Triangle. If you have any suggestions or feedback to give, feel free to use the comments section. You can also follow my blog to receive updates. I hope to see you all soon. Thank you for reading!
